Wave Residential Tower

Situated on a corner site in Achrafieh’s Mar Mitr quarter, this project faces unique challenges due to its exposure and orientation, which informed the decision to implement WAVE’s signature double-skin design. The longer façade faces south, while the shorter one faces west, leading to significant concerns around solar gain and heat management. To address these, a bold identity was established through the integration of an innovative second-layer sunscreen. Extensive research led to the adoption of a horizontal louvered system, chosen for its optimal performance in sun shading. The parametric design of the louvres responds fluidly to the building’s interior program, with their depth adjusting based on the function of each space and its need for privacy or light control.
