The challenge was to preserve the elegance of the Historic El Paseo building while creating a unique space with a sleek, industrial inspired look.

The concrete interior stands in immediate contrast to the white existing building. A preference for Industrial Chic led to a language of architectural concrete, black steel, monolithic forms and classic, earthy modern tableware. Filling the center of this lofty interior is a 35-foot-long communal table. It’s flanked by intimate booths nestled into concrete monoliths. The ambitious interior design for the adaptive re-use of this historic building utilized site cast concrete interventions at heights and thicknesses that had never been attempted before in a restaurant.
